Finder

Sometimes I write a song and things come out that I didn't know were in there.

Finder

Wish that I could say
Think about you every day
Sometimes you feel like you are
Half a world away

Feel like I should know
You better by now
How many times have I been lost
And then been found

Come and find me, come and find me
Come and find me where I am
Say you love me, say you love me
Say you love me as I am
Well I'd look for you if I knew how
Come and find me in my doubt... Finder

I used to call you mine
Provider, back in time
I still remember when you
Saved me from my crime

Yet the sun has set
So many times since then
I need you to remind me
Come find me again

Come and find me, come and find me
Come and find me where I am
Say you love me, say you love me
Say you love me as I am
Well I'd look for you if I knew how
Come and find me in my doubt... Finder

A short list

It's amazing how quickly time passes. I would have said it's been several months since I last gave an update, but blog timestamps don't lie -- it's been EIGHT full months. The good news is I've been listening to a lot of great music, absorbing new sounds and new ideas, and I've written a few new tunes as well.

That said, I have a few minor updates to give:

1) I've scrapped my plan to turn my shed into a studio in favor of buying some simple recording equipment and using the office inside my home (which, unlike the shed, is already heated) for recording new tracks. The office has great acoustics and I think it will help produce a nice organic sound.

2) This summer I received a call from my brother (a rare thing) and the first thing out of his mouth was, "Since when is your music on the radio?!" He continued, "I was flipping through the channels and heard a familiar song -- something about driving or tires on the road or something and I was like, 'Hey! That's my sister.'" Turns out the local indie radio station (98.1 The River) had selected my Driving to You track for a Sunday evening program in which they feature local artists. KIND of awesome.

3) There isn't really a third item, but lists consisting of only two items seem more like something that isn't a list at all. I tried to come up with a comparison, but my brain isn't in gear today.

OH, I think the third thing I was going to mention is the gig I have at the end of the month at Wofford College in South Carolina. It will be my first out of state gig in a year and a half, and even comes with dinner. Beat that.

So, my friends, that is the update. I'm looking forward to recording some new tracks this winter and releasing a new CD, perhaps in time for the new year. Until then...
